WLC U13’s take 3 of 4 points from #25 Ranked NJ Colonials to clinch AYHL playoff spot.

Big congratulations to the Washington Little Caps U13 team for securing a spot in the AYHL playoffs! Heading into the weekend, they had two crucial league games left to play against the 25th nationally ranked New Jersey Colonials. With both teams fighting for the fourth and final playoff spot, the stakes were high.

Saturday night’s game unfolded in dramatic fashion. After a 2-2 tie at the end of regulation, the teams battled through a tense 5-minute, 4-on-4 overtime, but neither could break the deadlock.

Sunday morning brought even more pressure in this must-win matchup. The Colonials struck first, taking a 1-0 lead. But midway through the third period, the Little Caps answered back, tying the game. Just 90 seconds later, they took the lead, 2-1. With less than a minute left on the clock, the Caps sealed the victory with a final goal, winning 3-1.

It was an impressive performance under pressure from the Washington Little Caps. Best of luck to them as they head to the AYHL playoffs March 1!
