WLC is proud to announce the hiring of Mike Wagner as the Director of Strength and Conditioning
WLC is proud to announce the hiring of Mike Wagner as the Director of Strength and Conditioning. Mike brings 11 years of professional hockey performance experience at the highest levels of the game with the Washington Capitals and the Hershey Bears. During that time, he has trained and supported some of the best hockey players in the world, gaining unmatched insight into what elite preparation, culture, and professionalism truly look like.
His experience within top-tier professional organizations brings tremendous value to WLC. Mike will elevate our strength and conditioning program, reshape daily habits, and help build a culture rooted in accountability, high standards, and elite professionalism. His leadership and expertise will push our athletes—and our entire program—to the next level.
“I’m incredibly excited to join the Washington Little Caps organization at such an important time,” Wagner said. “This program is making real moves to become nationally competitive at every level, and I’m proud to help build a culture of elite preparation, professionalism, and daily habits that translate to long-term success.”
All players will receive access to a cutting-edge training app that streamlines communication and delivers workouts directly from Wagner. The platform provides a fully integrated strength and conditioning program with built-in communication, accountability, and performance tracking—all in one place with no extra logins or paperwork. Athletes receive daily workouts with embedded video instruction, nutrition tracking, and individualized tasks, while coaches monitor completion and progress remotely. The result is a highly professional, organized system that supports long-term player development anywhere.
“Mike brings tremendous experience and will transform our strength and conditioning culture,” Mike Donnellan said. “For the first time ever, our players will have structured spring and summer workouts delivered through the app, along with consistent communication and guidance throughout the offseason. I expect our athletes to arrive bigger, faster, and more explosive than ever before.”
From all of us in the WLC family, Welcome aboard Wags!
