Washington Little Caps announce move to ST James

Dear Washington Little Capitals Families,

We are thrilled to officially announce that as we look forward to the 2025-2026 season, the Washington Little Caps will be moving to The St. James – the premier sports and wellness facility in Northern Virginia dedicated to elite athlete development.  This move represents an

ownership change as the Little Caps and The St. James have entered into a preliminary agreement for the sale of this storied franchise.

A New Era for Washington Little Caps Hockey

Over the past several months, the WLC Board carefully explored options to strengthen the Club’s future.  Our goal throughout has been to secure a world-class home that provides the resources, intensity, and infrastructure necessary to compete at a national level.  The St. James meets that standard and will carry forward WLC’s legacy of Tier 1 hockey in the DMV, creating one of the most advanced and productive hockey development environments in the nation.

While we are confident that this transition ensures a bright future for the Little Caps, we know that this period has created uncertainty for your athlete and family.  We are grateful for your patience and belief in our club and community.

State-of-the-Art Facilities for Elite Player Development

At The St. James, WLC athletes will have access to unparalleled training resources, including:

  • Elite Athlete Performance Center – Cutting-edge strength and conditioning facilities, including hockey-specific training and multi-sport opportunities.
  • Recovery & Wellness Services – Comprehensive recovery suites and injury prevention programs for peak performance.
  • Dedicated Classrooms for Video Analysis – Reliable space for film study and strategic development.
  • Performance Nutrition Services – A holistic approach to fueling athletes for success.

John Osidach Fund Endowment

We are also proud to announce that as our club moves to The St. James, the John Osidach Fund will be endowed to provide scholarships for future players, ensuring that hockey remains accessible to all who have the drive and dedication to succeed.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the families, coaches, and leaders who have shaped WLC over the years, including Founder John Osidach and his family, Brian Cullen, Dan Jablonic, Doug Plocki, Mike Donnellan, Ify Achebe, Bryan Reel, Brad Kostrzebski, Lyon Messier, Craig Desjarlais, Dave Dixon, our Board, and all our dedicated staff.

The commitment and spirit of this group has been the foundation of this great program.  Our inspiring athletes and coaches, fueled by this partnership with The St. James, ensures its bright future.
